What a line up Crawley
Folk Festival has for music fans this year! The finest
artists on the folk scene will be performing at The Hawth
over three nights at "one of the must-see events in the folk
calendar" (BBC).

FRIDAY 25
JUNE |
Enjoy a
unique take on folk music from Adrian
Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds. The band
play songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The
Stranglers, Talking Heads, Squeeze and more with
Celtic folk feel.
Ade sings and plays ‘thrash
mandolin' alongside Troy Donockley (Uillean pipes,
cittern, whistles, vocals) and Andy Dinan (Fiddle).
You
may have been lucky enough to catch the band's
performance at last year's festival. If you did you'll
understand why we have had to bring them back for
2010. Public demand has been huge and and Crawley Folk
Festival aims to please so the trio will be headlining
the Theatre on Friday night before they head off to
play Glastonbury on Sunday.

SATURDAY 26
JUNE |
On Saturday
night you will be spoilt for choice as the fest offers
up two stages with two great headliners.
The
open air amphitheatre provides the perfect setting for
this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner
Martin Simpson and his band to
perform. After 35 years as a professional musician
Martin is widely acknowledged as one of the finest
acoustic and slide guitar players in the world having
played with Jackson Browne, Danny Thompson, Martin
Carthy, Cara Dillon, Martin Taylor, Dick Gaughan and
many more.
Headlining the
Theatre stage on Saturday night is legendary blues
master Steve Phillips with The Rough
Diamonds. Steve takes inspiration from the
grand early masters of Country Blues; Robert Johnson,
Blind Blake and Willie McTell plus urban performers
such as Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters
and takes audiences on a musical journey stopping off
en route to flirt with fifties R ‘n' B and Western
Swing.

SUNDAY 27
JUNE |
Another award-winner
is in charge of bringing Crawley Folk Festival to a
close for another year on Sunday evening. 2010 BBC
Folk Music Award ‘Folk Singer of the Year' Jon
Boden performs with The Remnant
Kings who will be weave concertina, banjo and
fiddle with electric guitar, thumping bass and
clanging percussion. A performance not to be
missed.
