PBS6 The First London
Show for this unique gig featuring the Anglo- Australian- Asian multi
influenced beat machine that is PBS. A group of musicians bound by the
desire to create music and tell a story alone. Genre and geography
abandoned. Welcome to PBS6, a brand new exciting project from Will
Lang, best known for his percussion in folk-fusion group Mabon. Lang has
recruited some of the finest musicians from the Folk and Hip-Hop worlds,
both from the UK and Australia, to explore and unravel histories,
identities and culture.
Klak Tik On 14 June 2010
Klak Tik releases their debut album on Safety First Records via Cadiz/
Universal Music. Creating genre-dodging
alternative/orchestral/experimental folk, Klak Tik is the brainchild of 6
Day Riot co-founder Soren Bonke, a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist
hailing from the outskirts of Copenhagen. Working together with a former
band-mate and a stray kiwi from their instrument-laden home in East
London, and being joined by various talented cohorts to form their 8-piece
live act, they expand upon sparse and tender folk tunes to produce
multi-layered, pseudo-orchestral pieces of music.

Kirsty McGee and Mat
Martin
Last Wednesday in April -
28th
A
very welcome return to the Old Queen's Head by our friends from the
Hobopop Collective in Manchester.Kirsty describes herself as a maker of
delicate yet stubborn songs, as an instinctive traveller, and a human
scrapbook. Years spent as a hitchhiker and a period of homelessness have
enriched her knowledge of people and places, all whilst keeping her
moving.
After spending a while building tree houses
and bagging-out earth from tunnels at road protest camps Kirsty sold all
her possessions and hitched to Cornwall where she lived in a beach hut and
learnt to
fingerpick...

the all-inclusive principles that the folk community stands for. This
concert will not only be a musical rumpus of frivolity and festivities but
a point of reflection and celebration of all the gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender artists performing today who have found voice through
British traditional song and songwriting and the road journeyed to reach
this point.
