Gavin is a fine young melodeon player with a strong interest in English
& Playford dance music. In 2005 he graduated from the University of
Newcastles Traditional Music degree course, during which he was presented
with the Peter Caller Memorial Award for the best mature student in the
Universitys music department. He is also a director of SEFAN (South-East Folk Arts
Network).
The workshop will focus on ways of applying unusual chords &
progressions to tunes. Gavin will supply some tunes & invites you to bring
some of your own which you now play with standard chords. Music will be sent
out in advance. Recording devices are welcome.
