PIONEERING POOZIES TOUR WITH ORIGINAL DYNAMIC LINE UP
Pioneering all female folk legends The Poozies are
re-united in their original dynamic line up for a Nationwide tour from September
to December 2006.
The band originally formed in 1990 when the Scottish Harp
duo of Patsy Seddon, and Mary Macmaster, otherwise known as Sileas, appeared on
a solo album by Singer Songwriter Sally Barker.
Sally informed them of her desire to form an all female
band, and after hearing the deft Accordion work of Karen Tweed at a festival in Hong Kong
set about forming Folk’s Fab Four.
After two albums of achingly beautiful tunes, and soulful
songs, Sally left to start a family, and was replaced by the soon to be folk
star in waiting Kate Rusby. One album, and an ep later, Kate’s solo career took
her away from the fold, only for the enchanting Eilidh Shaw to add some fine
Fiddle work, and extra Gaelic vocal charm to the captivating Poozies wave of
sound.
However, with Eilidh herself now taking a maternity break,
Sally has returned to the Poozie family to add her vibrant voice to Patsy, and
Mary’s haunting Harps, and Karen’s mesmeric Accordion playing.
With Sally back on board you can expect to hear a whole
gamut of musical emotions ranging from melifluous melodies to Blues tinged
ballads, and Rock star rawness, while still maintaining that essential ethereal
otherworldliness that is forever The Poozies.
Part traditional, often groundbreaking, always
entertaining, uplifting, soul searching, foot tapping, and wide ranging The
Poozies are a band to suit all moods.
Miss them at your peril, as this line up may never pass
your way again.
