Kingskin present ‘Last Ride
Home’
Release
Exclusive Download October 9th 2006
For
Kingskin, if the crowd isn’t
dancing, then the gig isn’t happening and they like their gigs to happen. Kingskin isn’t a passing fad or
fashion, this is a band that is unable to be pigeonholed due to their unique
sound that they describe as a mix of funk & grunge and their penchant for
emphasising an individuality that most bands can only
crave.
Thrown
together after becoming disillusioned with the normal day grind, they hit the
bright lights of London to make their mark. Honing their songwriting skills as a
collective and perfecting their now infamous stage shows, which have been known
to have a naked ideology present on past occasions.
‘Last
Ride Home’
is a funk driven track with a toe tapping stomp mixed by George Shilling who has worked with big
names such as ‘Primal Scream ‘and
‘Bullet for my Valentine’ to name but a few. This tune is a splice of funky rock,
which in no time will have you singing along, crawling the walls and salivating
in anticipation for their next offering.
Kingskin
take their influences from the early 90’s grunge scene and influential artists
such as Nirvana and The Clash plus the explosive stage
performance’s of The Red Hot Chilli
Peppers. Their sound is a raw
mix of funk -grunge mixed with thumping, finely tuned guitar riffs that are
reminiscent of Led Zeppelin’s early
style grooves interspersed with raw
whiskey soaked vocals, which creates the bands eclectic and diverse
sound.
The
buzz on Kingskin has grown solidly
after winning Kerrang’s best-unsigned
bands competition. They have
successfully established themselves as one of the most energetic and compelling
live acts around, while building up their ever-growing fanbase. With playing venues such as Underworld and The Garage along with supporting big
name acts such as ‘Hell is for Heroes’, ‘Million Dead’ and appearing on the
same bill as ‘Hard-Fi’, Kingskin are definitely a band that you
will be hearing more of in 2006.
