COLIN REECE COMES BACK AS PART OF GOING BACK TOUR ??
Colin Reece, who for sometime made regular appearances across the county and became the South East's favourite acoustic rock musician is coming back to Kent for a weeks tour to promote his new album "Going Back".

This latest album includes 10 tracks of some carefully chosen popular songs following those he made with 'The Bully Wee Band' and many recorded during his career which include the icons of his self penned material.

Coming back indeed as Colin, following a phone call from comedian Jim Davidson, moved to Torquay to join the musical part of J.D.'s touring show.

Colin has since set up home amongst the palm trees of south Devon but occasionally we can be treated to one his shows at The Rochester Sweeps Festival each year and remembering last year when a magical bonus appearance was made at Broadstairs Folk Week.

The "Going Back" tour starts this month starting at The Barge Layfield Rd Gillingham on Monday 16th October. The tour then swerves over to West Malling for a Wednesday (17th) appearance at The Angel Inn at Addington Green when all of the tracks from the album can be heard live.
Colin will then uproot from his friends in Medway and meet up with bass player Mike Peters (of Hot Rats fame) in Whitstable for the remainder of the tour which will take in venues such as The Ship in Whitstable on Thursday 19th / The Plough Swalecliffe Friday 20th and then to touch base in Thanet.

Fans from the Broadstairs camp will be able to see Colin at The Tartar Frigate on a special Saturday performance on the 21st October.
The tour ends with a finale at The Two Brewers in Whitstable on Sunday 22nd when hopefully we can cram a few extra musicians in for the farewell concert.

Marc Teamaker and the Bombay Soul Shop

This is part of Marc’s October England Tour!

"Marc Teamaker could be the genetically engineered product of a mad scientist who loves all kinds of pop.

This Cos Cob resident looks like a Beatle and sings like Steve Winwood, and his CDs feature wonderfully eclectic tunes, from jazzy ballads to rockers like "Slipping Away."

Steeped in the raw, live tradition of the late 60s and early 70s, Bombay Soul Shop brings a refreshing, sophisticated energy to modern rock & roll.

State Of Undress
Memorably described as "a colourful, lively band - as vibrant and varied as a mood swing", State of Undress have been writing and performing their own distinctive brand of original music for more than 10 years in and around the Hampshire/Dorset area with a variety of line-ups along the way. However it's only in the last 2 years or so, when Charlie recklessly/bravely gave up her day job to concentrate on writing for and promoting the band that they have really been aiming to take the band and their music on to a more serious level.

MILES JUPP (Archie from Balamory) AT THE LONE STAR COMEDY CLUB

The Lone Star Comedy Club returns to the Lanterns in Folkestone on Saturday October 21st with MILES JUPP, STEPHEN CARLIN, CHERRY GREEN and guest compere PAUL REDWOOD.

MILES JUPP was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe 2003 for his show ‘Gentlemen Prefer Brogues’. He has been described as “A clever, deadpan, dead funny upper-class bloke, physically reminiscent of Martin Clunes but funnier … his musings are classic” (The Scotsman). Other awards include winner of Channel 4’s ‘So You Think You’re Funny 2001’ and winner of the Leicester Festival Comedian of the Year Award 2001.

On television, Miles has appeared as a regular on the (BAFTA nominated) ‘Live Floor Show’ (BBC Scotland – 2 series) and guested on ‘Does Doug Know’ (Channel 4). Other television includes the hit children’s series ‘Balamory’ (BBC 126 episodes), T in the Park (BBC Scotland), ‘You Must Be Joking’ (Channel 4), ‘Revolver’ (BBC Choice), ‘Weirdsville – Miles Jupp Investigates’ (BBC Choice Scotland) and BBC New Comedy Awards (BBC Choice).

On radio, Miles’ credits include ‘Robin & Wendy’s Wet Weekend’ (BBC Radio 4), ‘Fringe Cuts’ (BBC Radio 4). ‘The Motion Show’ (BBC Radio 4), ‘Spanking New’ (BBC Radio 7), ‘Famous for Five Minutes’ (BBC Scotland), ‘Velvet Cabaret’ (BBC Radio Scotland) and ‘Hens’ (BBC Radio 4). He also appears regularly in his own slot Jupp’s Eye on the Fred MacAuley Show (BBC Radio Scotland).

He was recently seen on the network series of ‘The Live Floor Show’ (BBC2) and ‘Wife for William’ (Channel 4).

It’s a brave and original comic that starts with Stalin based humour, and manages to warm the crowd into his world. STEPHEN CARLIN is very enigmatic, using a unique pattern of delivery to amuse the audience with very unexpected and off the wall references. From his sartorial elegance to his in-depth and hilarious knowledge of international snooker, Carlin’s performance takes the audience into the mind of a passionate obsessive. This man is on his way to become Scotland’s newest addition to its history of brilliant comedians.

CHERRY GREEN is a 70s generation Viking immigrant, born in Blackpool to parents who made their own Christmas lights. Badly. New Cherry lives in London and has been successful on the stand-up comedy circuit since early 2003. Her blend of dark observational humour and social commentary has proved a massive hit with audiences. Cherry moved to London to pursue her comedy aspirations after it became painfully apparent that having a degree stands for nothing anymore. Apart from getting you stuck in a dead-end call centre job. And that wouldn’t do at all. Would it? Cherry was a semi finalist in ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ Metro and Guilded Balloon 2003, a finalist in Jimmy Carr’s 2005 Comedy Idol and a semi finalist in the 2006 Laughing Horse competition. She has guested on Channel 4’s FAQ U.

A trained primary school teacher, PAUL REDWOOD soon realized that he liked the company of old women (not in THAT way!) and got a job running a bingo hall in his native Southampton. Armed with a sense of fun he also launched himself upon the world of comedy, albeit in a slow laidback way. At first things were tough, gigs were sparse, his hair already thinning. Paul soon realised that the best way of doing it was doing it yourself. And The Rib Tickla Comedy Club was born. Paul used this to hone his comedy skills, and learn from the more established acts that he booked. He has been gigging now for over six years and now has a presence and style that is unique. His use of props is fast becoming legendary. Paul is both innovative and enthusiastic, traits that bring surprises and laughs galore. Confident as a compere or set comedian, the audience always enters his world, whereupon he will offer advice and his view of life to great effect.

Tickets are £8 each or £64 for a table of eight on the main dance floor area. Tickets are available from the Lanterns itself or call Richard on 07810 864228 to book your place. Doors open at 8pm, with the show starting at 8.30pm.
