Roots/Folk musicians and bands wanted - Folk Theatre

Folk Theatre would like to hear from roots and folk groups/individuals from around
the country who are from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds (that doesn't
disinclude English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, French etc).

We want to hear from all sorts of groups that are trying to play host to their
aural history in order to promote their music around Yorkshire.

Please email website addresses, myspace's and mp3's to mailto:folktheatre_at_gmail_dot_com

P.S If you know of a particular group or artist that impresses don't hasten to
recommend either.

Disability Equality Training London

These courses introduce disability equality issues. They consist of an activity
based day in a relaxed atmosphere employing quizzes, role playing, model making
sessions, case studies and scenario discussions.

Lynn Cox is an established freelance Disability Equality Trainer and an artist.
She has worked with major disability and arts organisations including Shape, the
Serpentine Gallery and the Art House.

Individual artists and those who administer and manage cultural organisations are
encouraged to learn the modern concepts and the latest requirements of Disability
Access. For that specific audience Lynn has developed a series of accessible
training sessions. These sessions will inform and help individuals gain confidence
to fulfil their potential, to recognise the requirements of disabled/visually
impaired people and to ensure those requirements are met.

The training sessions will be held at Pocklington Resource Centre, 1C Yukon Road,
London SW12 9PZ at 10:30am to 4:30pm .

The scheduled events are:

Wednesday 13 December – Disability Equality Training

The course fee is £25 per person. Refreshments are available but lunch is not
included. Escorts and assistance dogs are welcome.

Music Leaders Required for Festival Singing Workshop

Music 4 Slough (M4S) are seeking suitably qualified and experienced
musicians/facilitators to deliver two short festival singing workshops.

The sessions will be run at Slough Museum and will link in with their family
learning programme. The young people are typically aged 3 - 10 years old and
are accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

There will be two short workshops over the course of one day. The workshops
will take place on Thursday 21 December, 11.30am - 1.30pm and 2pm -4pm

The exact content of the sessions will be dependant on the Music Leader, but
we would like the young people to be given the chance to sing and explore
festival songs from different cultures in a fun and informal environment. We
would like the workshop to include some songs that refer to Christmas, but
also winter festivals and other seasonal celebrations from other traditions
and parts of the world.

If you are interested in working with Music 4 Slough on either or both of the
above workshops please supply the following information:
- Please quote your daily rate for this type of work
- Please enclose a CV of teaching experience and other relevant music experience,
  including references
- A proposed lesson plan/ rough outline of what you intend to deliver and how.
- Please feel free to supply any additional documentation that you think we may
  find useful

All artists must have Enhanced CRB certificates and Public Liability
Insurance. All equipment must be PAT tested. Where necessary Music 4 Slough
can assist in getting these checks in place.

Attached is a sheet outlining the aims and objectives of M4S. You can also
visit our website http://www.music4slough.co.uk for more information.

For further information or to submit your details (no later than 24th November
