2] WILL DUKE
Some of you will already know that Will Duke went into hospital for a serious operation which took place yesterday. This morning he is reported as "sitting up in bed and eating his corn flakes". Obviously he will be missing from the Royal Oak's body of resident performers for the next few weeks and the loss of his magnificent unique musicianship, his delightful singing and his perky querky humour will be very noticeable. Anyone who would like to send letters or cards should send them to:- Will & Christine Duke 41 Dallas Lane
Barcombe
Nr. Lewes
East Sussex.
We all wish Will a speedy and complete recovery. Come back soon, Will, we all need you very much. Will Duke has been accurately described by John Foreman as a "National Treasure"
3] FOLK AT THE ROYAL OAK ON "MYSPACE"
An additional website for the Royal Oak is being developed to give the venture a MYSPACE profile. This should enable us to profile sample tracks of coming guests as well as photos and biographies. It is at www.myspace.com/royaloakfolklewes

A NUMBER OF OUR GAMBIAN INTERESTS HAVE NOW BEEN GATHERED TOGETHER UNDER THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE
**COMPOUND SOUNDS***
Have a look at it at www.compoundsounds.com where we have added a video clip of Jali Sherrifo Konteh playing at the Whitby Musicport Festival in October 2005. This website includes the work that we are doing to help to set up a new music school in Brikama, teaching kora, balafon, djembe and jali singing to European tourists to The Gambia.
We will be bringing Sherrifo to the UK again in the autumn and any suggestions for possible venues would be most welcome. Sheriffo also has a MYSPACE profile at www.myspace.com/jalisherrifokonteh .
The lovely batiks made by Buba Drammeh sell through this site and we photograph each one to show on the site:- www.compoundsounds.com/batiks/index.html
The Compound Sounds website can now accept payment for batiks and for the two albums by the kora maestro Jali Sherrifo Konteh by Paypal and most major credit cards. Sound clips from Sherrifo's album "Chesano" have been added to this website. +++++++++++++++++++++
