Professionalism - or death by a thousand qualifications?
Should artists working in schools be accredited?
Creative Partnerships Hastings and East Sussex are organising a series of
free seminars featuring high profile speakers exploring current issues
facing creative practitioners, teachers and individuals interested in
creativity and learning.
The first of these is being held on THURSDAY MARCH 22ND in the restaurant
at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea, from 5-7pm.
We have two speakers, Tony Fegan, Learning Director of the London
International Festival of Theatre, and Liz Whitehead, Co-director of the
Fabrica Gallery in Brighton.
The event will be chaired by Philip Halstead, Director of the Hastings and
St Leonards Excellence Cluster.
After the speakers we will open the discussion to the floor and invite
contributions on the subject. Come along and have your say, watch the sun
set over the sea - and have free drinks and nibbles into the bargain!

This is a veryexciting project, being mounted in partnership with Finnish National Opera,and with subsequent performances taking place in Finland in the summer 2008.The cast involves 12 professional singers, and a large community chorus of30 adults and 40 children. We are looking for someone to work as a rehearsalpianist and Assistant Musical Director for this project, with strongrepetiteur skills, an ability to lead the chorus when the conductor is notable to be at rehearsals, as well as coach principal singers. The rehearsalperiod will run from June 18th through July 7th, but you will also be neededfor some weekend and evening choral sessions in May and June before the mainrehearsal period begins. The fee for this position is £1,500.
