You might like to know that the first part of a series of programmes about

English Country Dance Bands has just appeared in the Radio Britfolk schedule

As the presenter of the show, I'd like to thank Pete Coe for the original

idea, and for the loan of some amazing music, much of which appears in the

first prgramme, "Roots".  The whole series is called "Stepping Out" and

looks at English dance music over the past 35 years or so, as well as music

from some of the traditional musicians who were such an influence on the

early bands of the "revival".

Programme one contains such delights as Bob Cann, Oscar Woods, Bob Smith's

Ideal Band and Scan Tester, as well as the Old Swan Band, Oak, Umps & Dumps

and Whapweasel.
