Subject: What a gig! - Show of Hands - Royal Albert Hall

Hello
So who else thought that was a pretty amazing gig on Sunday! Made up for them not coming to Canterbury this Spring didn't it. For those of you reading this that haven't yet discovered Show of Hands - delay no further - you won't regret it. Great choice of guests I thought, was there anyone there that hasn't done a Folk in the Barn concert? Even Paul Downes was to be spotted as an honorary 'Fishermans Friend'. High spot for me was Steve singing 'Exile' with Kathryn Roberts, simply beautiful. Made up for Seth's absence. Good to get a reminder of Jenna's lovely voice as well. Don't forget you can see her with Steve Knightley on his solo tour next month (17th May) in Canterbury. Email me for tickets - a mere £12 (£10concs). I thought for a heart pounding few minutes that I'd won the Oddy Cello-Mandolin raffle - my ticket was 409 and in the dark looked green. Everyone around me said yes its green - you've won, but when the lights went up and I checked with the organisers, it wa
John Tams and Barry Coope tickets are now selling well, thanks to you! There are still lots left amazingly. They were playing at Gosport and Fareham Festival at the weekend in a double header with Kate Rusby and that completely sold out the very large (800 seats?) Fernham Hall. Don't miss them, this will be a special one, I can promise you.
Saturday 21st April - Canterbury Cathedral International Study Centre - John Tams and Barry Coope £13 / £11, doors 7.15pm for 8pm.
Beth news..

Yes the rumours are true, Beth Nielsen Chapman will be returning to Canterbury and thanks to Beth - Folk in the Barn is promoting the concert. Sadly the Marlowe Theatre wasn't available but we have the use of the cosy Gulbenkian Theatre instead, which personally I think will suit her more, being more intimate. The concert will take place on Friday 30th November, tickets £20 and £18 for concessions which is less than most of her other UK dates. Beth will be supported by Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis who is currently getting rave reviews. Tickets will be available from the Gulbenkian Box Office from the 1st May, Please don't ring them yet. However for Folk in the Barn members ticket booking will be available a few days earlier. Exact date yet to be agreed, I will email you with details shortly.
Next FiBers night - next Monday (16th) in the Kingston Barn.
