Tim van Eyken is fast becoming one of the great hopes
for the future of folk music, leading his generation with a modern and
open-minded approach to traditional music. His first solo album released last
year was received to great rapture and has been hailed as one of the most
important folk albums within the last 20 years. Neil Spencer of The Observer
say’s of van Eyken “A clarion call for tradition…... a triumph”. Tim has
spent the last 5 years as a member of the royal family of folk Waterson:Carthy.
However he has now gone solo forming his festival headlining band Van Eyken
which is touring the country to sell out crowds.
Tim has kindly donated his evening to play in aid of the Live Wires Young persons music residential scheme for which he is a tutor and great supporter.
