Concert venues for Tenterden Folk Festival 2007

5th to 7th October

Tenterden Folk festival has an impressive list of guests for all of this year’s concerts.

The Friday evening concert has been relocated to The Moulton Hall at The Tenterden Club in Church Road and will offer three hours thirty minutes of the best in English folk music.  The Tenterden Club will be a great concert venue with a large hall and separate fully licensed Evans Bar with real ale and friendly staff.  The Evans Bar will be open to concert goers before and during concerts.

The Saturday Evening concert is being hosted by The Sinden Theatre in the grounds of Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre in Ashford Road.  The concert will include not only the English folk music for which Tenterden Folk Festival is best known but also some of our overseas guests including KAUSARY, one of Europe’s best-known Andean bands.  They boast an exciting, expressive and talented line-up that will enchant any audience with their sounds of Latin America. Whether it’s music ‘for the heart’ or ‘for the feet’ they entertain and delight every audience.  Experience the passion of Latin America and see why audiences all over the country are thrilled and captivated by the band’s atmospheric performances.  There first appearance at Tenterden is sponsored by Hobgoblin Music’s Crawley shop.  The Saturday evening concert will take place from 7.00 to 10.30 p.m. so there will still be time to catch the last few dances at the English Barn Dance or to join in a few songs at a sing-a-round in a town centre pub!

In addition there will be the usual mini acoustic concert in the Saddlery of the White Lion on Saturday and an expanded music show case on the stage in garden of The Woolpack Hotel on both Saturday and Sunday.

For the first time we are planning a Sunday afternoon concert which will also be held in the The Moulton Hall at The Tenterden Club.  Many Festival guests and ticket holders go for a ride on the steam trains in the afternoon and then take part in the final sing-a-rounds in the even so this concert will fill the gap between and enables us to offer another chance to see some of our guests.

The line-up for each concert will be announced nearer the time but guests taking part  will include Jim Bainbridge, Tom Bliss, Marian Button, Pete Castle, Peter Collins, Duck Soup, Hengest and Horsa, Dick & Carol Holdstock, David Jones, Keith Kendrick, Kausary, Jali Sherrifo Konteh, Sylvia Needham, The Simon Hopper Band, Andy Smythe, Spare Parts, Steve Turner and Trefor & Vicki Williams

Full weekend tickets are now on sale priced at £20.00, under 16s £10.00, until 1st September.  We are also taking camp site books and bookings for craft and music fairs and street stalls.
