Just a short note to let you know that Wheeler Street are playing at the Barge in Gillingham on Monday (29th).
If you haven't heard yet they are a young folk band (all under 19) who are being called the new face of folk in Kent. They have been taken up by Terry O'Brien who manages Jim Moray, Lisa Knapp, Salsa Celtica and loads of others and are already getting bookings on the festival circuit for next year, the first one supporting The Oysterband, Not bad seeing they have only been together since March this year. Three of the members of the band won Dougie Hudsons Folk Factor competition at the Sweeps festival this May.
Have a look at the Myspace page and it will be great to see you there Monday.
