K-City Music Tuesdays

The Dealers

Tuesday 30 October 8pm

Gulbenkian Café Bar Canterbury

The second K-City Music Tuesday of the season presents rising stars The Dealers at the Gulbenkian Café Bar.

“The best acoustic band we’ve ever come across”

Barney James. Playmusic Magazine

The coming together of singer / songwriter and guitarist Pierre Vincent and singer / songwriter Bessie Sayce has created one of the most exciting, innovative, powerful and rewarding performances for a long time.

Winners of the 2006 Rochester Sweeps Festival Folk Competition, The Dealers went on to receive "Best Unsigned Acoustic Act" in Britain by Playmusic Magazine. Pierre and Bessie have already had two radio programmes (BBC Radio Kent) dedicated solely to The Dealers. Their debut album "Listen" is already receiving airplay in Australia and their song "Cost" has been added to Neil Young's Living With War website. The Dealers have just released their second album "Trine to the Cheats", and are currently touring the UK.

“The Dealers are an extraordinary act. Rarely at a Folk Festival do the artistes appear in such stunning outfits, and then go on stage to delight the audience with a set of well-crafted self-penned songs performed with confidence, great vocals and musicianship. A breath of fresh air – catch them before they are whisked away from the acoustic scene by a canny music mogul” Kim Headley, Artistic Director Broadstairs Folk Week

On the last Tuesday of every month, K-City introduces their own brand of live music events in the Gulbenkian Café Bar. With an emphasis on original bands and performers, Music Tuesdays aims to elevate Tuesdays beyond ‘the dullest day of the week’ and present an interesting mix of rising stars and seasoned veterans.
