Celtic and other Sessions
If you have been looking for the Wednesday Celtic session at the George Inn, Stone St. this has now terminated again - the session is back in the Anchor Inn in Wingham, until further notice.
However there are also now sessions in a number of pubs on different days of the week.
A most important session is an excellent French/European/Breton Session,
that has some very traditional instruments, including pipes,
"reed-capped shawm", and hurdy-gurdy, all in an excellent pub
with good beer.

This session was at the Rose, Wickhambreax, but has now moved to the Half Moon and Seven Stars at Preston, nr. Canterbury CT31EB. It is on :

3rd Mondays of the month:
The new French/European/Breton Session at the Yew Tree, Barfreston, CT15 7JH has now unfortunately ended, after doing very well, due to yet another pub closure - pub open and doing some music - will let you know when I hear more.
1st Tuesday of the month:
A new Swing Jazz session in the Blind Dog, 13 Rosemary Lane, Canterhury. CT1 2PN

Last Tuesday of the month:
The mixed session/folk evening in the Kings Head, 117 High Street, Hythe, CT21 5JJ is now back up and running, with a warm welcome, after a while at the Botolphs Bridge Inn.
A high quality Celtic session that was on Stone St. and more recently at the Anchor Inn, Wingham, is now at the Old Beverlie, St. Stephens Green, Canterbury, CT2 7JU. New musicians very welcome.

This mixed session has now moved back to the Bear, in Faversham, ME13 7AG;
and an excellent evening it is, well attended by a range of musicians (including some young ones), and a packed pub.

First Thursday of the month:
New: The Two Brewers Acoustic Music night runs on the first Thursday of every month at the Two Brewers, 113 High Street, Rochester, ME1 1JS, 8.30pm onwards, hosted by Sally Ironmonger Trio. (www.sallyironmonger.co.uk). Open Mic Night, PA provided.
