while we wait for a practising choir to finish in the adjacent
room.
This is Bryan
Creer's regular free session for concertina players of all systems and
abilities. What happens depends largely on who turns up, but there's usually
some part-playing at some stage and a few session tunes get severely beaten
up.

tunes session comes round again. If you'd like to lead one of these sessions,
which are always on the first Tuesday of the month, let me know. Keith
Macdonald and Brian Cooper have earmarked the February 2008
session.

The monthly free
practice for anyone wanting to practice tunes popular in local English
sessions on any instrument. Andy Warburton has compiled two unbound
supplements, one of a further 33 trendy tunes and another with a small
selection of Scan Tester’s material; both are available to people coming to
the practice sessions for the not unreasonable sum of £30p, but limited to one
copy per person. They can also be downloaded from the Lewes Arms Folk Club
website.

A list of
Lewes Arms Folk Club workshops in 2008 follows my signature. Belshazzar’s
Feast have moved from 14th. June to 6th. December and we are delighted to add a workshop with Will Duke on Scan
Tester’s tunes on 5th. July.
We’ll also add a
ballad forum, but the date has yet to be fixed.
