Hi Folks,
The January 2008 edition of Worlds of Trad Internet radio is now uploaded,
will be on-line until Wednesday February 13th 2008, and features the very best
in traditional folk, ethnic, world, roots, blues, old time country and early
jazz; in fact traditional music from absolutely everywhere.
This month there's a few carols left over from new year; Sam Larner, Roy
Harris and Jamie Taylor tangle with more pirates than you’d find in a Johnny
Depp movie; Curley Weaver, Dick Justice, Wesley Long, Lonnie Coleman and Gus
Cannon tell you what does it for them; there’s ragtime music galore from Scott
Joplin, Gary Davis, Leadbelly and Mutt Carey; Hawaiian music galore from
absolutely everybody; and holy rollin’ sanctified singing galore courtesy of
Sister Lottie Peavy, Bunk Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, Washboard Sam, Bessie
Smith, The Mountain Ramblers, Viola James, Doc Watson and Nan Tom Taimín
a‘Burcha. And if that lot doesn’t purify your wicked soul, there’s some good old
sinful Donegal fiddle, several singers from Fred Hamer’s collection, some modern
urban blues, and the usual collection of everything from everywhere in the
world.
To listen to the programme, go to
http://www.live365.com/stations/oneworldmusic
, and click on the yellow speaker button. If you haven’t listened before you’ll
need to follow the onscreen instructions to download the station player. Then
wait a moment or two and the station will be on the air.
The music’s great, listening is free and I'm glad to receive
requests.
As always, this e-mail is being sent to everyone in my address book. If
you’d rather not be disturbed, send an e-mail to
Fredlive365_at_aol_dot_com, with the words DELETE
ME in the subject heading, and you will be troubled no more.
Happy listening, and roll on the warm weather,
Fred McCormick
