Ebb and Flow from Barry, Chris &
Siobhan
Barry Wake, Woolston based folk singer, musician and
songwriter, has released his fourth and latest album of songs, Ebb and
Flow.
There are fifteen songs on this CD, covering a wide
range of social and historical subjects, including some with strong local
connections.
Subjects covered include the rise and demise of
shipbuilding in Woolston, the tragedy of Itchen Ferry lad Richard Parker, R.J.
Mitchell of Spitfire fame, a plot at Itchen Ferry to murder Henry V, the
Titanic’s disastrous maiden voyage, and the title track, which is about Weston
Shore.
This CD is a collaboration with much acclaimed folk duo
Chris and Siobhan Nelson, who currently make their music in the far flung plains
of Southport and are much sought after for appearances at folk clubs, concerts
and festivals around the country.
Nelsons Wake (did you see what we did there?) play
together very rarely, due to geographical differences, and this is the very
first time they have recorded a whole album together.
CDs are £8.00 each (plus postage and packing when
applicable) and can be obtained direct from Barry:
Please download a
poster/leaflet in pdf format if you are able to promote this CD
