SHIVANOVA are looking for friendly Volunteer Assistants to help with the running of their 2008 Equator series based in Ashford, Kent.

The series consists of 7 diverse performances of world music, dance and theatre which you can choose to help out with any number of (see website for dates)

As an assistant your role may include

  • Greeting the general public and providing them with information.
  • Selling tickets and refreshments.
  • Helping out backstage.

This is a voluntary position but we will refund travel expenses and provide refreshments.

NEWS:EQUATOR: OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL MUSIC & DANCE IN ASHFORD, SHIVANOVA

Description:

Cutting-edge world music company ShivaNova brings an outstanding line-up of leading international musicians, dancers and storytellers to Ashford in 2008. The Equator World Music Series is returning to Ashford for a second series with a unique programme of contemporary world music, dance and theatre.

Equator opens in March with performances spanning Argentina, Portugal, Zimbabwe, China, the Caribbean and more. St Mary’s Church, Ashford and Brake Hall at Ashford School will play host to an outstanding line-up including the much anticipated return of flamenco star Juan Martin and a special event for children. ShivaNova's own dynamic mix of Indian, jazz and contemporary styles also makes a rare local appearance - its founder Priti Paintal lives in Tenterden.

NEWS:A COMMUNITY SHOW FOR THATCHAM - GREAT WEST ROAD, THE WATERMILL THEATRE

Description:

From Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 March, The Watermill Theatre invites Thatcham residents to reflect on their town's past, present and future through a new play by Ade Morris.

Inspired by stories and contributions from local people, this engaging production will be performed by a professional company of actors alongside performers from the community.

The show will be recorded over four nights by BBC Radio Berkshire for future broadcast. This is an exciting opportunity for the people of Thatcham to make their voice heard, and tell their story to the whole of Berkshire and beyond.
