       | “If
Williams' guitar picking gets any sharper, we'll have to invent new
      adjectives," wrote the Boston Globe.
Well, they better start inventing because Williams' music, lyrics,
singing, and picking get sharper with every recording. Critics and writers
hail Brooks as "an acoustic guitar god'" and a "fret monster," saying his
music is "electrifying," "dazzling," and "breathtaking," and that he sings
like the "Angel of Soul." His unique combination of traditional and
original music inspired Dirty Linen magazine to call him one of
      " His
guitar skills have recently won Brooks a place in the Top 100
Acoustic Guitarists list, in company with the likes of
Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, Jan Akkerman, and John Martyn, to
name a few. With thirteen albums to his credit, his growing catalogue of
original songs is "exquisite," says MOJO
      magazine. Likened
to James Taylor, Robert Johnson, Bruce Coburn and Bert Jansch Brooks is
back in the UK with a new set of songs and a new album (featuring Dave Mattacks), The Time I Spend With
You, launched this week. The title track was written whilst Brooks was on
      tour here last year. It’s
pleasantly difficult to pin down Brooks Williams; a diverse and versatile
musician who is quite simply one of the most entertaining and engaging
performers on the circuit today. “This
guy is incredible. I thought I'd seen all the great guitar players, now
I've just had to go and add another to the list… the boundaries have been
      stretched” ! Kev
      Hutch, Live Review “Brooks
continues to consolidate his pole position as guitar picker par
excellence…but it's good to be reminded of just how compelling a
songwriter Brooks is……hearing his records doesn't really prepare you for
the impact - total satisfaction guaranteed.”

Brooks for this show is Marsha
Swanson, recently voted Best Folk Artist and Album at the
      Glasswerk New Music Awards. |  | ||
