The Excel Institute is seeking to recruit highly experienced and committed drama and storytelling workshop leaders to deliver workshops as part of our Curriculum Enhancement Programmes for Chinese students of Primary and Secondary age from Hong Kong. The students come to the UK with a very good knowledge of English. One of the aims of our programmes is to unlock this knowledge and enable the students to use English creatively and imaginatively through a variety of drama strategies including workshop-based activities. Applicants need: At least three years’ experience in working with young people in schools and/or youth theatre settings. Confidence and flexibility in leading drama workshops on a variety of topics. Experience of working with young people with English as an Additional Language (EAL) desirable but not essential. All applicants must hold a current CRB check. We currently require leaders for workshops running from w/c 14th July to w/c 11th August. Our programmes are based in the following areas in Kent and Surrey: Kingston, Sutton, Ewell, Epsom, Bexley, Bromley, Sidcup, Chislehurst and Croydon. We are also recruiting for English and Drama teacher positions for programmes running throughout this period too.
