Colin Randall's Top 10

Colin Randall has written about and reviewed Folk Music for the Telegraph for nearly 20 years and as such has become one of the most respected and well versed reviewers around today.  He keeps abreast of all things folk on his website Salut! Live, where he reviews new releases, interviews the stars and engages in all kinds of debate on Folk.

Towards the end of every year Colin produces his Top 10 of the year list, which always contains some great albums.

He reviewed Threads back in December 2007 calling it a "Stunning Debut" having already published his Top 10.  However, he did state that if any late releases were good enough he would consider amending his 10.

True to his word Colin took another look at his Top 10 Albums of the Year and we are delighted to see that Ruth's Threads has made the list.

Bob was "Chuffed"

Along with her Cellist Hannah Edmonds, Ruth (with a mixture of excitment and nerves), played a great set on the BBC Radio 2 Bob Harris show.  Going out live on Saturday 8 March, Ruth sang 3 songs from the album sandwiched between the likes of The Beatles and The Kings of Leon.  The team at Bob's show were really pleased, saying  "A result! She sounded great and Bob was chuffed".

Check out what Bob played and listen in to his great mix of music every Saturday
Also check out the "Radio Highlights Montage" we've put together at Ruth's myspace to celebrate Threads radio play to date.

Ruth's Busy Summer

With over 30 gigs this summer there is plenty of opportunity to hear Ruth playing live.  Going out as a trio, duo and sometimes solo, there are all kinds of gigs from Clubs and Arts Centres up to big Festival gigs like Larmer Tree Festival and Towersey Village Festival.  Ruth is very excited to be out on the road doing what she does best.

Folk Rising

One of Ruth's tracks will appear on the forthcoming compilation CD "Folk Rising 2".  This great compilation introduces listeners to some of the hottest new talent on the scene and we are really honoured to have been asked for a track.  The first Folk Rising album included such names as Tim van Eyken and Devils Interval so Ruth is in good company.  Look out for the CD in June and we will keep you posted.
