The Singing Loins plus Hot Rats Duo

Following their 2006 sell out show at Medway Folk Cella= r, The Singing Loins return to promote their latest junk operetta The Drown= ed Man Resuscitator. The latest release from the finest exponents of authe= ntic raw folk from the Medway delta prompted renowned journalist, Everett True, = to comment “The Singing Loins can be as savage as Billy Childish at h= is most belligerent and are equally as inspirational. This is a fine record indeed.”

The Bully Wee Band are one o= f the country’s finest exponents of acoustic folk/rock. Featuring local favourite Ian Cutler, the band’s bl= end of acoustic guitars, mandolin, fiddle and keyboards with = mesmerising effect.

John Kirkpatrick plus Hot Rats Duo

From the late 60s, John has been at the forefront of innovative folk in B= ritain, playing with, amongst others, the Albion Band, Steeley= e Span and the Richard Thompson Band, as well as establishing himself as a brilliant solo act. Specialising in concertina = and squeezebox, John is regarded as a virtuoso instrumentalist, mesmerising songwriter and one of folk music’s leading interpreters of traditional songs.

The Acoustic Strawbs are ba= ck in Medway with a new album – Painted Sky­ – and the integrity and musicianship that saw them conquer hearts and minds both side= s of the Atlantic, in the 70s. The new materi= al will be brought to life tonight, alongside Strawbs classics.

Phil Beer plus Hot Rats Duo

Lead guitarist, singer and songwriter with The Albion B= and for many years, and now one half of the acclaimed acoustic duo Show of Hand= s, Phil’s instrumental wizardry is well documented. He has toured and recorded with Mike Oldfield and Steve Harley and played on The Rolling Stones’ Steel Wheels album. Succumb to the spells cast by this amazingly diverse and talented musician.

Sounds of Thunder - St Patrick’s Day Party with the = McManigan Academy of Irish Da= ncers

The McManigan Academy of Ir= ish Dancers performs its own tribute to the worldwide hit Lord of the Dance<= /i>. Based on Irish folklore, this is a classic tale of good versus evil. The McManigan Academy of Irish Dancers is a three times f= igure dancing champion for Great Britain and has been placed at the World= and European championships.

Kirsty McGee and Mat Martin plus Hot Rats Duo

It’s no surp= rise that Kirsty’s influences include the like= s of John Martyn, Beck and Jack Kerouac. Her songs f= ocus on vagrancy and restlessness and on a bed of wonderfully sparse finger pick= ed patterns, with a voice that has more in common with pure pop sensibilities, than the gnarled whisperings of a booze-soaked legend. With multi-instrumentalist Mat Martin, she creates a live atmosphere that can ba= the and barb in equal measures. Fine hobopop music.=
