2) Creative Careers

3) Aosdána Election

Composer Siobhán Cleary has been elected to Aosdána, the state-sponsored academy of creative artists in Ireland. Cleary was born in Dublin and studied with Louis Andriessen, Franco Donatoni, Tom Johnson and Kevin Volans. She is Artistic Director of Ireland Promoting New Music (IPNM) and lives in Sligo. Cleary's election coincides with an increase in the Cnuas, the annual stipend available to Aosdána members. Visit aosdana.artscouncil.ie

4) Call for Scores

Levande Musik, a Swedish music organisation, is requesting submissions of scores for soloist. Pieces must be miniature works with a duration of thirty seconds and will be performed as part of the Göteborg International Book Fair, 25–28 September 2008. Visit www.levandemusik.org

5) Songwriters' Retreat

The seventh annual Listening Room Songwriters' Retreat will take place in Samsø, Denmark on 17–24 August. The retreat, which is limited to nine places, will culminate in two concerts. Visit www.listeningroomretreats.com
