SEPTEMBER
2nd ...ON STAGE
artists of the night:
Caroline Harrison - "A voice of gold" is how Swansea's Evening Post defines the sensational new singer-songwriter Caroline Harrison who has been wooing local audiences in Wales. Caroline's songs are an effortless blend of distinctive melodies and soaring vocals. The 26-year-old has a gift for melody and lyrics and her eloquent voice immediately demands your attention. This rare ability was seen at Narberth's annual Winter Wonder Dance at the Queens Hall where Caroline opened up to a strong metal audience and "easily claimed the crowd" as reviewed by The Western Telegraph. Her song "Evidence" was recently featured "Demo Of The Week" by Adam Walton on his show for BBC Radio Wales. Caroline is also featured on the latest addition to the Highlander movies "Highlander The Source" (Score by Film Composer George Kallis).
Lyrebird - is the the latest project from writer/producers Sorana Santos and Christopher Lane, and there could not be more fitting a name. Their ability to seamlessly weave styles with flair and dexterity is much akin to a lyrebird's command for mimicking the sounds of its environment. But it's not just Lyrebird's depth of stylistic knowledge that's bringing a fresh-faced Blues style to the airwaves of the Twenty-first century. Their first performances have already culminated in standing ovations and turned the heads of industry folk, which is unsurprising given their accolades; Both have performed at the Royal Albert Hall as classical musicians, and between them rack up an impressive body of work, from music for Nissan and Terry Gillingham, to The Landon Chamber Ensemble and The Rose Theatre writer, Tracy Keeling. With all that experience behind them, Lyrebird bring their truly unique sound to the circuit with soulful riffs, haunting melody lines, socially charged statements, and some good old-fashioned storytelling to boot. And, as if that weren't enough, their unshakable technical mastery of their instruments see them carving out their niche a cut above the rest. By Mr. Fandango
Tricia McTeague - a singer and songwriter from a small town called Widnes near Liverpool. She's been writing songs for what seems like most of her life, and she's had the pleasure of working with some amazing and talented people in the past as Backing Vocalist, Session Singer and Writing Collaborator. The music she performs is all her own work. You can listen to them on her debut album 'The Pleasure Is Mine'.
Saul Ashby - attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, then moved to New York to work on his songwriting. Now 22, he is living back home in London where he is gigging and working on material for his album.
