NSO in Donegal
The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra is in residence in County
Donegal this week, with performances and workshops in Letterkenny. The NSO,
conducted by Gavin Moloney will perform a programme of Bizer, Rossini and
Tchaikovsky, with additional performances by the Donegal Youth Orchestra

DEAF
The Dublin Electronic Arts Festival takes place next weekend with
fifty-two events taking place in various venues. The festival runs 23–26
October, finishing with a large-scale event across three stages. Visit www.deafireland.com
Temenos 08
A three-day look at the music of English composer John Tavener
takes place in Louth on 24–26 October. The performances, which will feature,
among others, the Ulster Orchestra, Ioana Petcu-Colan, Polyphony and Anonymous
4, include a newly commissioned work by the composer. Visit www.louthcms.org
Cork Jazz Festival
Next weekend also sees the return of the Cork Jazz Festival,
running 24–27 October. Headlining the festival are Chick Corea and John
McLaughlin and their band, but there are over thirty other acts performing.

Maggie Teyte Prize
The Maggie Teyte Prize is a scholarship for female singers run by
the Musicians' Benevolent Fund. The prize entails £2,000, a recital and £1,500
towards further study. An accompanist prize is also available. Visit www.mbf.org.uk
