The Dance Around the World Festival of
Traditional Dance returns to Cecil Sharp House (2 Regents Park Road, NW1 7AY) this weekend, 25-26
October. With more than forty groups participating, we celebrate the cultural diversity of greater London through traditional music
and dance. You can watch performances all day in the main hall, or join in the
workshops in the two downstairs halls and the marquee in the garden..
On Saturday evening, carnival comes to
the festival in the sensational Latin-American
Night. That's in the upstairs hall while, in the downstairs
hall, you can take part in a lively Balkan Dance Party. On
Sunday evening you can join in the eclectic Anglo-International Barn
Dance upstairs or attend our new Conference
Event downstairs where speakers will discuss and illustrate
their varied collecting experiences.
For the programme details check the
web-site, www.datw.org.uk. The price is
just £10 for each day including the evening, or £6 for the evening only and
there is a full weekend ticket for £16.
