On Saturday 8th November Eliza Carthy will be appearing
at Record
Corner, Pound Lane, Godalming at 2.30pm as part of the shop's
50th
birthday celebrations. If you've not visited the shop before do
drop
in on the last remaining independent record shop in Surrey -
a
treasure trove for lovers of music outside of the mainstream.

the same day, Saturday 8th November, at 8.00pm at the Maltings,
Farnham GU9
7QR, Eliza will be taking the stage with her new band to
showcase her "whizz
band jamboree bag of an album" Dreams of Breathing
Underwater. Eliza, who has
been described by The Times as "the
international star of English folk in the
21st century", will be
adding vocals, fiddle and ukulele (!) to a line-up of
accordion,
cello, piano, double bass and percussion to perform material
reviewed
as "the work of an artist who refuses to stand still" (The
Sun),
"magnificent" (The Guardian) and "quite a party" (Mojo
magazine).
