<snipped>
But the big news is that the Junctions concerts are nearly upon us,
nearly 2 years since we started trying to find funding! "Junctions: English
Music Breaking Formation" is a collaborative project bringing together
contemporary classical music (the Tacet Ensemble, with Alison Kay and Ed Hughes)
and traditional English folk music (Spiers & Boden). We've been working
together over the last 7 months to develop 4 new compositions for the combined
ensemble (one each by Jon Boden, Ed Hughes, Alison Kay and John Spiers) that
reflect the different skill sets and backgrounds of the musicians. Each piece is
very different, and they're all fantastic.
The concert also includes each group playing selections from their own
repertoires.
 Tacet will be playing music by living English composers including
Graham Fitkin, Kenneth Hesketh and Michael Finnissy.
