Subject: Mainly Ceilidh Dance Club.   Horsham.  Friday 3 October 2008

As you may know we are hoping to get an energetic ceilidh club going in Horsham.  It will not seek to compete with the hugely successful Godalming GBH and Haywards Heath Meltdown Ceilidhs but we should like to build a ceilidh crowd in Horsham and so expand the opportunities for dancing.

In order to provide that extra opportunity we are scheduling our ceilidhs for Fridays (the first Friday in the month) rather than Saturdays.

Bob already runs a successful folk dance club in Crawley on alternate Tuesdays and there are similar clubs in Horsham on some Saturdays and Mannings Heath on 2nd Wednesdays but we hope that our new venture will be for more energetic dancing and will grow to support live bands.

If you would like to enjoy a lively ceilidh in Horsham once a month then come along to the first night of the Mainly Ceilidh Dance Club at the Tythe Barn, Pondtail Road RH12 5EZ.  It is near the junction with Haybarn Drive.

The club will begin with a scratch band so musicians will get free entry.  But recorded music will also be used so that musicians will get a chance to dance too.  We hope, as the club grows, to be able to employ local bands so, by helping get the club started, musicians will be creating a new employment opportunity.

As experienced dancers we recognise that we benefit from expanding the number of dancers so we will encourage dancers to change partners often so that new dancers can learn from the more experienced.

If you would like

then come along this Friday 3 October and let us see if we can get the ball rolling.

Wear comfortable shoes and bring something to drink.

We look forward to seeing you.

Best wishes

John Byng & Bob Weddell

**STOP PRESS**

come along to the first session on 3 October and get a voucher for the next Meltdown Ceilidh at Haywards Heath that gives you £1 off a full price ticket on 11 October . Band: PEEPING TOM and caller Pete Rees.

The Wealden Ramblers (aka that well known and much loved duo Bob Kenward and Roger Resch) will be appearing at St Mary’s Church, Willesborough, Ashford Kent on Saturday 1st November at 7.30 p.m. in a concert of “Songs of Kent”.
Tickets are £5.00 on the door.

Note this is Willesborough not the Parish Church of a similar name in Ashford Town Centre.

Please try to support what could be an occasional venue for folk song run by this Church group.

Alan
