“The show was the highlight of The Edinburgh Festival” The Scotsman
Click on the CD to hear the music...
Even if you’ve never heard of Hazel
O’Connor, the show, the songs, the voice, the melody of Cormac De Barra’s
intuitive harp, plus her humorous, and sometimes poignant, autobiographical
storytelling, will touch your soul - just as it has done to theatre audiences
worldwide.
Fresh from the Edinburgh Festival and to
celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show, which spawned a beautiful album of
the same name, Hazel and Cormac are bringing an updated script to the
Gulbenkian
offering you a rare opportunity to see this “Unique and unforgettable” (The Scotsman)
performance.
Mari
Wilson
The Christmas I Always Wanted
Mari Wilson’s glamorous and dramatic debut
onto the music scene was in the early 1980s with sequinned frocks, evening
gloves and gravity-defying beehive hairdo. Mari had six hit singles - the most
successful being Just What I’ve Always
Wanted and Cry Me A River.
Mari has created and co-written a one-woman musical, The Love Thing. Tonight’s show will include a sneak preview of this, and promises an emotional gambol through the meadow of Mari’s personal treasure trove of influences, passions, new songs, past hits and a few indiscreet stories along the way.
