Needless to say contributions are always welcome and if you have listings, news, event dates etc please drop us a line, thats why the site exists... Other bits and bobs, and a few forthcoming dates/tours of note, Bellowhead are back on the road again in late October, early November, the Oysterband's 30th Anniversary tour is taking place late November, early December, The Carolina Chocolate Drops have a handful of dates in mid November, Kirsty McGee and the Hobopop collective are touring in October to support the release of The Kansas Sessions, and far more listed in our events section...
There are still festivals in the diary for what remains of 2008 you should check out including Folk in The Fall in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, on 31st Oct and 1st November, Derby Traditional Music and Arts Festival 24th - 26th Oct, Dundee's Festival of Traditional Music this coming weekend (3rd - 5th October) and even more so forget the credit crunch and go folking for a weekend..
Oh and almost finally a couple of links, the latest edition of the excellent of Living Tradition is available online, go read it at www.folkmusic.net and then subscribe to the paper copy, and over on the bbc folk site there are interesting contributed blogs and debates, go read them at www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/folk/.
And finally, any suggestions for forthcoming tours, gigs, news and more please share them at the folk and roots myspace blog page (blog.myspace.com/folkandroots) along with new artists you have come across on the circuit recently...
