CMC Salon Series
Continues
The Contemporary Music Centre's
Salon Series, an informal performance of new music, features members of Ensemble
ICC this week. Harpsichordist Rachel Factor and horn player Enda Collins will
perform four new works by Dylan Rynhart, Johanne Heraty, Dónal Sarsfield and
David Bremner. The event takes place at the Goethe-Institut, 37 Merrion Square,
Dublin 2 at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 26 November. Admission is free.
Wexford 2009
Following the recent inauguration
of the new Wexford Opera House, the programme for the Wexford Opera Festival has
been announced. The festival, which will run from 15 October to 1 November, will
feature Gaetano Donizetti's Maria Padilla, John Corigliano's The
Ghosts of Versailles and Nino Rota's Il Cappello Di Paglia Di

Molinari Composition
Competition
The Canadian Molinari Quartet has
announced details of its composition competition for string quartet. Works for
string quartet not exceeding twenty minutes should be submitted by 1 April 2009.
The maximum age for entrants is forty. The first prize is a $3000 grant as well

Music Network Awards
The results of the 2008 Performance
and Touring Award and Music Recording Scheme have been published by Music
Network. A total of of €25, 971 was awarded to four applicants to the
Performance and Touring Award and €71,500 was awarded to ten applicants for the

Crescent Arts Centre Composition
Course
The Crescent Arts Centre, Ormeau
Road, Belfast is hosting a Winter composition course on 7 and 14 December. The
course is led by composer Peter Rosser and clarinettist/saxophonist Paul
