The group, which includes Cora Venus Lunny (violin/viola), Kate Ellis (cello), Daniel Bodwell (bass), Rachel Factor (harpsichord) and Maeve O'Hara (percussion), was recently described in The Guardian as 'a ready-made community of creators, performers, and listeners, and they are blazing a trail for 21st-century music in Ireland'. Sing Out Galvone
The Irish Chamber Orchestra, which recently moved into a new, purpose-built building in Limerick, is taking part in new educational project this week. Sing Out Galvone involves the ICO and students of Galvone National School, Limerick. The students have been studying various aspects of music and have composed new school hymns, sports anthems and Christmas songs. The orchestra will be performing orchestra arrangements of these at the school in Kennedy Park, Limerick at 2:00pm on Wednesday, 3 December. Visit www.irishchamberorchestra.info
