The Horsham Folk Club programme is at www.horshamfolkclub.co.uk but here is an extract for the next two weeks:

Sunday 4th January    Open Floor Night

Sunday 11th January  The Tabbush Sisters

The Tabbush Sisters, Anna, Freya and Nonny, sing a cappella folk and contemporary song in luscious 3-part harmony. They are best known for their original interpretations of well-known folk and pop songs and their fresh, enthusiastic stage presence. The Tabbush Sisters are in fact sisters from a family of folk singers who have sung together since any of them can remember. Since formally forming the harmony act in 2002 they have stunned festival and folk club audiences across the country. In 2005 they supported Steeleye Span on the Main Arena at Sidmouth Folk Festival, silencing an audience of 5000 people. The busy lives of the three sisters have led them to perform less regularly in the past few years, but you can catch at Horsham Folk Club for one of their rare public appearances which will certainly be a special evening for the club.   Admission £5 (£3 for members), under 18 free.

The Mainly Ceilidh Dance Club will meet on Friday 9th January at the Tythe Barn, Pondtail Road, Horsham RH12 5EZ.  It is near the junction with Haybarn Drive.  Please note we are meeting on the second Friday of the month from now on.  Our last dance was well attended by both dancers and musicians and we hope this one will be even better so come along and help to make the club a success and an asset for Horsham.  We are reducing the number of rules.  Just two now: No walking and no hanging on to the same partner all night.  You may remember there was another rule but we have dropped it for the new year Bob.

Best wishes for 2009

John Byng
