Subject: George Gilbert
Hi,
My name is Jack Long, and in 1974/5 I arranged and
produced an album of
George Gilbert's music at Vortex Studios,
Hollingbourne. The Album, I
believe, was entitled "Flows Medway Softly", and
consisted entirely of some
brilliant Medway-inspired songs, all written by
George, of course. I used my
regular musicians and singers at the time - including
Trevor Brice from
"Vanity Fare", who sang most of the lead
vocals.
Unfortunately, I have a problem: my last remaining
copy of this classic
album and the original 15ips master tapes, have been
stolen.
How can I get an appeal out to the Kentish
folk-lovers who may still have a
copy of this album, and who might be kind enough to
make a copy of it for
me, or let me borrow it long enough to make my own
digital version?
I really would be most grateful for your help on this
one.
Sincerely,
Jack Long.

Dear Everyone,
JOHN HARVEY TUNES SESSION TONIGHT
I'll try to get to the John Harvey Tavern this evening, but the roads and
pavements are still bad. If in doubt, don't travel. The pavement in St. John's
Terrace is atrocious.
LEWES FAVOURITES PRACTICE SESSION, TUESDAY 24TH.
FEBRUARY
The Elephant has got a diary clash on 24th. February, so we're moving the
Lewes Favourites tunes practice session on Tuesday 24th. February to the
Crown, 191 High Street, Lewes BN7 2NA
http://www.crowninn-lewes.co.uk/
for this month only. We'll be using the Crown for some of our multiple
workshops later in the year. Its function room, which has fine wooden-panelled
walls, is on the ground floor. The nearest car park is the large one in West
Street. Go out of the back of the car park, over the road and through the
Market Tower; the pub is right next to the Market Tower. It sells Harveys, of
course.
Tootle pip,
Valmai
