I’m writing to let you know about the release of a new CD , and some forthcoming gigs.
CHRIS HAIGH CD
After years of doing any number of band cd’s (Kremlinaires, Tziganarama, Klezmania etc) I’ve finally done a solo Chris Haigh album, which is released on 15th October. It’s got 15 tunes, covering a wide range of styles (Texas Swing, Shetland, Irish, Klezmer, jazz, Russian and Romanian), and some great guest musicians (Brendan Power (harmonica), Leon Hunt (banjo), Alan Dunn (accordion and piano), Stewart Curtis (clarinet), Andrew Tulloch and Richard Bolton (guitars), Raph Mizraki and Viktor Obsust (double bass) You can check out the artwork and listen to a few samples at www.fiddlingaround.co.uk/off the wall.html
BUYING THE CD

FORTHCOMING GIGS
It’s all quiet on the eastern front at the moment- that is to say no forthcoming Kremlinaires gigs. However I’ve got a lot of gigs coming up with Carmina, a wonderful celtic/jazz fusion band- check out details of the band and details of the dates at www.carmina.co.uk. The dates include a string of village halls in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and the West Midlands in October and February, plus a date in London at the Hammersmith Irish Centre on 29th November.
With Tziganarama (east European trio) I’m playing at Le Quecumbar (42 Battersea High Street), kicking off around 8.30, on Sunday 12th October
I’m doing a fiddle workshop in Bristol on 25th October in the afternoon- venue TBC but it’ll be on my website shortly, plus a concert the night before with Alan Dunn on accordion; both will concentrate on East European music.
