Subject: Crawley Ceilidh Experience - Callout

Dear Network Folk

Wanted English Ceilidh callers and musicians in May and June

The Crawley Ceilidh Experience is a SEFAN project designed to increase the number of ceilidh dancers in the Crawley area in preparation for the Ceilidh at the Crawley Folk Festival.  We hope too that the number of dancers can be built to support other Ceilidhs throughout the year.  It will offer tutored ceilidh dances on weekday evenings in Crawley Community Centres served by a caller and a single musician but possibly building to larger session with two or three musicians.

Crawley Borough Council is providing support.

Callers are needed that would be willing to teach the basic skills (e.g. giving weight in right and left arm turns and in spins) as well as call the dances.   Musicians are also needed that can work solo and with others to provide lively ceilidh tunes but cope with the interruptions needed for tutoring.  The project has a small budget with which to pay the callers and musicians (£50 a session each).

The likely dates for the tutored dances are 14^th, 15^th, 18^th, 21^st of May and 1^st, 8^th and 15^th June but please register your interest even if those dates do not suit you.
