Just a quick reminder about the event starting this coming Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Venue: The Light Lounge, London Street, Basingstoke, RG21 7NT See Map Link (Parking/Bus and Train Stations all nearby)

From 25th March until 20th May we will be running FREE "Drum n bRass" workshops at The Light Lounge, who knows what will happen after that but we are aiming to make a performance group so why not join us on either drums or brass.

2.   Waxing Lyrical- a storytelling practice and coaching session.
Are you a storyteller beginner who wants to tell a story in a more informal setting? Are you a more experienced  storyteller and want feedback on something you are working on ? Then this is for you!
Each evening will include an opportunity to practice some or all of your story (max 5 mins), And get feedback  and coaching on your storytelling
We aim to run this as a pilot for four months. If there is sufficient interest we will continue it in the autumn.
2nd Tuesday of every month starting 14th April, 
And then 12th  May, 9th June, 14th July

3. Tales of the Surrey Hills- Don’t mention the flying pigs!
Come and listen to tales of the Surrey Hills at Newlands Corner Visitor Centre on Saturday 28th March at 11am and 1pm.
Professional storyteller Janet Dowling brings you tales of our foremothers and forefathers as they lived on the land and tried to make sense of what they could see. Listen to tales of the Surrey Hills, with a landscape of giants, dragons, winged horses, magic fish, the odd witch or two, even the devil – not to mention the flying pigs!
This free event, has been supported by the Surrey Hills Sustainable Development Fund and Surrey Wildlife Trust.
Stories are suitable for a family audience.

4.     Horrible Ewell Story Walk
A Story Walk for youngsters age 8 + with David Brookes of Bourne Hall Museum Club
Tuesday, 7 April 2009 - 10.00am to 12.00pm
Thursday, 16 April 2009 - 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Visit the graveyard of Old St Mary’s and discover folk who lived locally and just won’t stay dead!
Hear tales of witches and horrible murder, the funeral without a body, exploding gunpowder mills and coach crashes!
The Resurrection Men and the vicar who pulled down his own church!
Our tour ends with a visit to Ewell’s historic jail and a chance to find out first hand what an 18th century prison was like!

Subject: What's On Horsham Folk Club


Sunday 29th March The Biggin Hillbillies  The  Biggin Hillbillies are a four piece band, with mandolin, banjo, guitar, and double bass. Their repertoire extends into folk music, early pop, country, bluegrass, blues and jazz. They are a lively, cheery band who have been making music almost every day for decades for sheer fun of it and entertaining people at their home venue in Farningham, Kent and at concerts, pub gigs, club events, barn dances, weddings, barbecues and festivals in England, Scotland and Wales.  Admission £5 (£3 for members). Under 18 free.
