The Way Through The Woods : The Show
The Way Through the Woods show is a performance of linked songs and readings which lasts just under an hour. Most of the songs are designed to be sung in harmony by all the singers, a few are sung by Craig Morgan Robson with the cast joining in the chorus or refrain. The emphasis of the show and the workshop day is on singing together as a group, but there are two short pieces which would be suitable for allocating to a soloist or small group. Members of choirs or groups might like to bag these for themselves.  On the list of songs are indications about which songs should be kept as “whole group songs” and which could be treated differently.
Singers
The show needs a minimum of 12 singers (recent performances have had casts of up to 80).  Singers need to be able to learn a part either from CD or from music, and maintain a part while singing with others who will be singing a different part. Craig Morgan Robson will help with this. The songs do not have a very big range, nothing higher than Eb at the top and Bb in the bass.
Readers
The show also needs at least six readers (who may also be singers) including two male voices.
Participants will receive:
¨      A CD with all the harmony parts for the songs
¨      A set of song words with performance notes explaining the arrangement
¨      A copy of the sheet music if required
¨      A set of readings with performance notes
A copy of the outline script and running order
