Subject: RE: Porvari at The Eastbourne Underground Theatre on Friday May 15th (8.00pm)

-------------------------------------------------------------------
We return to the Eastbourne Underground Theatre on Friday May 15th (8.00pm) for a very special evening to launch our new CD ‘The World is Watching’, ten Sam Whimpenny originals meticulously arranged by Sam and Simon and for the first time featuring a number of guest musicians and a lot of hard work from B. L. Underwood on programming and production. Already described by those who have heard it as “an amazing change of sound”, for this CD we have kept the acoustic guitars and mandolins but tapped deeper into our rock influences with the addition of drums, keyboards and electric guitars. As a taster we've uploaded 6 of the ten new tracks to our My Space site  www.myspace.com/porvari
This evening will be the culmination of 9 months hard work and we’d love you to be there to share it with us. We will be performing two sets, the first will be predominantly acoustic featuring our previous highly acclaimed CD “Play Something We All Know”. Vaguely reminiscent of Bob Dylan going electric in 1965, we will return in the second half plugged-in to perform the whole of ‘The World is Watching’ with help from a few guests.
Tickets are a credit-crunch busting £5 and available From the Tourist Information Centre, Cornfield Road, Eastbourne; from the Underground theatre whenever open for a UGT event, including Coffee Mornings;  on the door, pre-performance Or By Phone: 01323 737677
More details of the venue from the UGTs website http://www.undergroundtheatre.org.uk/MainFrameset.htm
Please be aware that the Underground Theatre's doors tend to be closed once the performance starts, therefore although it's not very fashionable please get there in time for the 8.00pm start!
 Best Wishes
 Sam & Simon

Second Sunday in May begins our summer season, ‘Songs in The Bluebell Room’.
We’ll welcome the very imaginative, entertaining and slightly bewildering, ‘Ivan Campo’ (the band).
Surprise of the night was the excellent Ivan Campo, a folky three-piece named, for some reason, after a workmanlike Bolton midfielder. One could see them becoming an English Fleet Foxes without all of the disturbing feyness of the Seattle wonders. Keep an eye out.” OxfordBands
