Helloo again
Never has a gig sold out so fast! I know I said I wouldn't sort it till Monday but I was so deluged yesterday I thought I'd better make the effort! Steve Knightley and Martyn Joseph in the Kingston Barn on 23rd June has now SOLD OUT! All those that have emailed, texted and phoned since yesterdays announcement have got their tickets.
To pay for them for those that don't know - please send a cheque payable to D Earl or Folk in the Barn, to 18 Derringstone Downs, Barham, Canterbury, Kent CT4 6QE with a SAE please. Please put Knightley/Joseph tickets on the envelope.
TURIN BRAKES / KATE WALSH
The reason I've been so busy this week is that I've had about 30 tickets returned for various reasons for Turin Brakes this coming weekend and a lot of Turin Brakes fans from far affield who booked tickets and then didn't pay. When I've eventually traced them they'd either forgotton about it or changed their minds. Most have been resold to those on the waiting list, but I'm left with 4 for this coming Saturday if anyone is interested. TURIN BRAKES / KATE WALSH - Saturday 16th June - CCISC - Doors 7.15pm - tickets £17 - email or ring me 01227 831493
Still tickets available for Gigspanner on June 13th £11
Kate Rusby is playing in Sevenoaks on Sunday 28th June as part of the Sevenoaks festival. It's the annual John Smedley folk memorial concert. I don't have any contact details but I'm sure googling it will work.
I'd like to recommend a fantastic festival taking place on the May bank holiday weekend 22 - 25th at Catton Hall nr Lichfield. It's the Acoustic Festival of Britain and has the most amazingly eclectic line-up!
Headlining is Roger Hodgson who is the voice and composer of Supertramp (so its basically Supertramp with a different band) The Christians, The Animals the Acoustic Beatles. You've also got ColvinQuarmby - on the main stage Saturday afternoon - and Martyn Joseph on the Maverick Stage Saturday evening. Mawkin Causley, Chris Difford, Jackie Leven, Michael Weston King, Mungo Jerry, Baka Beyond, Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds, Phil Cool, Magna Carta, Albert Lee - Hogans Heros - and many many more including a Woodstock Tribute Stage with James Tayler, Crosby Sitlls Nash and Joni Mitchell (tributes of course). Weekend tickets include free camping and parking £80 or just £25 for a day ticket which is incredible value for the line-up www.acousticfestival.co.uk/ Pick up a flyer at the ISC at the weekend if you are interested.
See you at a gig somewhere soon
