Subject: Clip art for folk events

Hi Penny

Something for a long-term future... (having browsed the conference notes)

There is no clip art I could find that would help promote a ceilidh. There seems to be nothing at all available that is relevant.

I wonder if there needs to be a project of arty type people who might develop a handful of images that would help ornament posters / flyers for such events?

(The group running that dance we did at the weekend managed to find a cowboy boot - eek!, a guitar, and a couple dancing!

I think that sounds like a really worthwhile project!

So - anyone able to give us clip art style images or strong simple pics/stills that could be turned into clip art
for social dancers / folk bands etc  ... please send them to me. (hi Mr.Heath - whatya got?!)

I am happy to collate and/or work on stuff and then put them up on the SEFAN website as a free resource for community groups to use when designing their posters/handbills. It would be so nice not to HAVE to have hillbillies, wouldn't it!

2. Venues

One of the things that came up in the conference was a requirement for lists of performance venues ... particularly those that book Artists!
(This would be particularly useful for Artists planing to tour).

More Open Mics / sessions / free pub nights would also be useful.

We already have a list up online _at_

but it would be great if we had many, many more places as a resource for Artists to tap.
(I could then rationalise by county as well as weekday for member use).

London is under-represented (gulp - did i really volunteer for this!)

So - please send me what YOU know about your local area ... or links to other listings if I don't already have them on the website

muchly thankie
