Conrad Vingoe's songs are fresh and intelligent - melancholic,
euphoric and off-kilter. A regular on the Brightonscene, Conrad has played
alongside Kate Walsh, Turin Brakes, Passenger and the Miserable Rich, some of
whom appear as guest artists on his album “Spare Buttons and
Bones”.

met Conrad when producer Tim Bidwell presented an evening of artists he’s been
working with. Inspiring stuff! Conrad tells me that Vingoe is a Cornish name –
do I sense something of the deep west and even a dash of Celtic in his very
poetic sound? Perhaps… or I’m imagining things.”

“Danni cites Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry amongst her influences. Certainly you
can hear a directness and clear sense of purpose in her songs, but as well
there’s a sweet-tasting country thing going on. Funnily enough, we met Danni at
the same show that we met Conrad, presented by Tim Bidwell, with whom she’s been
recording. We didn’t set out to get Danni and Conrad to play the same Second
Sunday, but that’s where fate has led us (since Edwina Hayes had to relinquish
the slot to tour with Roger McGuinn). The outcome, I think, will be a show of
quite remarkable quality!”

Second Sunday
~ Songs in The Bluebell Room is a monthly songwriter showcase, hosted by
local writer, singer and band leader DrBoKarma. Invited guests appear in a leisurely
lunchtime and afternoon session, on the second Sunday of the month, in
The Bluebell Room at the Wok Inn at Shortgate, Lewes Road (B2192) Halland, East
Sussex BN8 6PJ ~ music starts just after 2pm, main act plays at around 3pm ~ £5
adults, no charge for children. Special buffet and full a la carte available in
the restaurant.
