Hi people...
Ok, i wont take up too much of your time here....just wanted to remind you that the second of our May gigs happens this Wednesday-KIM THOMPSETT at Orange Street music club-(details below....)
Also, very exciting news is that, the utterly amazing CIRCULUS have agreed to play for us at the club in September-some of you were lucky to see some Circulus members in their PRINCES IN THE TOWER incarnation, at the recent Medieval gig-well, now you can see the whole bands performance of .........

" Circulus, a tripped-out prog homage to both '70s psych and 12th-century chamber music. It's all about the burning scarecrows, see. The mystical mash-up of a lute, a Moog and various Arabic-sounding woodwind instruments is a bit like beef ice cream: unusual, but somehow right."

More info.to come.

Also, the very lovely OWL SERVICE played a blinder, at Islingtons UNION CHAPEL on sunday, with some new material being showcased (see attached photo)-their gig supporting MARTIN CARTHY at the club really will be something to crawl over broken glass for...failing that, some tickets are still available, from me, or the venue (details and gig diary below).

Ok, hope to see some of you at Kims gig on weds,

Best wishes, Jason

THE KIM THOMPSETT BAND
WITH SUPPORT FROM JEM and MARTYN (RELIG ORAN)

For fans of early pastoral English folk music, in the vein of SANDY DENNY, PENTANGLE and VASHTI BUNYAN.

" honest, most magickal and real, a treasure indeed "
Root Deity Poems

Released on 30th November 2008, Songs from the Uglee Meadow features ten original songs inspired by nature and tales of myth and legend. Having already won acclaim from various quarters including Michael Tyack of Circulus and Marianne Segal, folk legend of the 1970's, and blending medieval, celtic, folk and contemporary influences, Songs from the Uglee Meadow should appeal to all lovers of the acoustic folk style.
"I am very impressed. Beautiful voice and really nice arrangements. I have strong connections with the folk world and this is one of the best things I have heard recently."       Andy Hemsley, Journalist
The album "Songs from the Uglee Meadow" is inspired by a serene and beautiful place in East Sussex called the Uglee Meadow. With the involvement of musicians such as Will Summers from Circulus on crumhorns, recorders and other blowy things and Philip Martin (alias Drohne) on hurdy gurdy and pipes.  Songs inspired by quiet woods, rushing streams, misty meadows, lonely moors and dancing fires imbued with an air of timelessness….
