Next week is the Uckfield Festival. As part of the festivities
String Theory will be playing their special brand of “string-driven swing” at
The Uckfield Club on the afternoon of Saturday 18th July.

Foot-tapping rhythms, wacky vocals and some fine musical improvisation
guarantee great entertainment.
Listen to their tracks on myspace:

Best regards

Subject: Tenterden Folk Club news

Hi all,

Firstly a reminder that it is our usual monthly sing-a-round and music session in the bar of The Woolpack Hotel, in Tenterden on Tuesday.  We look forward to seeing you for an 8.30 start.

Some bits of advance news:

  • Tenterden Folk Club are presenting a very special concert with TOM LEWIS in the Saddlery of The White Lion on Friday 19th March 2010 so that is a date to put in you diary now.  If you know Tom you will not need a second invitation to be part of the audience but if he is new to you have a look at http://www.tomlewis.net/.  More details will be released in due course.  We hope that this will be the first of a series of concert style folk club meetings in addition to the monthly sing-a-round.

  • We are also hoping to present a special show in co-operation with The Sinden Theatre in Tenterden sometime in 2010.  This will be something very special which you would only normally see at a folk festival or larger venue.  Negotiations are quite well advanced so watch this space.

  • Details of Shiva Nova’s autumn 2009 Equator concert series has just been released so visit the website at http://www.shivanova.com/equator.html for details.  We are pleased that PETE COE will be in concert in Ashford on Friday 27th November 2009.  We are also discussing plans for the spring 2010 series so keep an eye on the website for exciting news in due course.

That’s it for now so see you on Tuesday

Dear all,

Welcome to the first edition of the Tradamis email newsletter - keeping you up to date with what we're up to and how you can get involved!

Contents:
- New Practitioners
- New web-spaces
- Annual Get-Together
- Skills Day update

New Practitioners
A very successful recruitment campaign has been set in motion, and we have had a phenomenal response from potential new practitioners. Some have already been invited to observe schools workshops - to read some 'first impressions' please visit our new blog, here: www.tradamis.wordpress.com

New web-spaces
The existing Tradamis website is still at www.tradamis.org

We now have a Tradamis blog - www.tradamis.wordpress.com - if you have any submissions you'd like to post on our blog, please send them to me - alicelittle_at_tradamis_dot_org. To subscribe to this blog (to receive entries by email), scroll to the very bottom of the page and click 'entries (RSS)' and then 'Subscribe in Mail'.

And now Tradamis also has a facebook group - www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=87941603578 - to join, log in and click on 'join group' in the top right.

Annual Get-Together
To thank our practitioners for all their hard work this year - and to meet potential new practitioners and other contacts - we invite everyone, once a year, to meet up all together for an afternoon of food and drink, music and dance! This year the Get-Together will be on Sunday 11th October in Windsor. More details to follow!

Skills Day update
Our Skills Day training event for practitioners will be in the autumn, probably in late October; and will be held inBedfont, at one of our partner schools. This means we will have a chance to put our training into practice straight away! It will be a full day event, starting at about 8.30am, and finishing at about 4pm (to fit in with the school day). Training is free - I will be in touch with more details once the date and other details have been set.

-----
I hope you're all having a good summer!
