SUSSEX HARMONY - West Gallery Quire
A  CANCELLATION and forthcoming programme
Please note that the EVENING CAROL CONCERT ON THURSDAY 17TH December at  St Peter’s Preston ParkBrighton has been CANCELLED as the church will be closed for urgent repairs.  Watch this space as we are hoping to arrange a concert there in the spring.
But there are still plenty of events in the rest of 2009 where you can hear this enthusiastic bunch of singers and instrumentalists who enjoy keeping alive the music performed in rural parishes before 1850.  You won’t find another choir that performs with such a range of artists or in such different venues.  So come along and hear psalms, hymns, canticles and carols like whot you’ve never heard before!  They could be florid, melancholy or joyful but they will be exuberant.  To add to this heady mix, we will be dressed in 18th and 19th century costumes.
Friday 4th December – concert with the Copper Family at the Underground Theatre, Eastbourne at 7.30pm .  Booking only through Hailsham Pavilion (01232 841414) and see www.spyboy.co.uk for more details.
Sunday 20th December – taking part in the evening carol service, 6.30pm, at South Malling Church, Lewes.
Monday 28th December – get away form the turkey and join in lunchtime carols and seasonal folk songs at The Volunteer pub, Eastgate, Lewes from 12 – 2pm
For more details about the events and us, see www.sussexharmony.org.uk

1)    The Horsham Folk Club programme is at http://www.horshamfolkclub.co.uk/
Sunday Oct 25th  Mrs Ackroyd   The stunning voices of Alison Younger and Hilary Spencer and the keyboard wizardry of Chris Harvey normally accompany the crazy Les Barker.  Tonight, in his absence, we can still expect the marvellous nonsense that is MRSACKROYD. Funny, witty, thoughtful, emotional - but always brilliant! Admission £6 (members £4) Under 18s Free.
