Hello
Everyone
Thank you for the
wonderful support given to Geoff Achison last Tuesday at the
Bottleneck.  It was a terrific gig, by all accounts and this is a report by
the night's MC John Cordingley:
"Wow, what a night,
Geoff flies in from Atlanta in the morning and “blows us away” the same evening
with his fantastic playing and performance, starting the two sets with a few
acoustic numbers which he has always been good at on his big Gibson, and then
with the Souldiggers which never fail to let you down. Sam Kelly on drums and
Paul Jobson keyboards as normal and a new bass man named Spy who filled the
shoes of Dave Clark. All the band members were excellent and considering they
had not played together for two years only endorsed their professionalism as
they worked together perfectly. Geoff’s performance was outstanding as normal
and we were all pleased to see him and our old friend and leader John Adams back
again. The Roffen was filled up completely, all tables and chairs were taken and
many willingly stood all evening to hear Geoff’s kind of blues, I enjoyed it so
much and  was honoured to do the M Cing for the evening. John
Cordingley."
This month we
continue the founding theme of the Bottleneck - great music, in a great setting,
at an affordable price - in the provision of a very fine
bluesman Kris Dollimore.  It is at the Bottleneck that Kris, already a
veteran guitar player with some very well know bands, saw Ben Andrews perform
and it changed his life and direction.  Since then Kris has honed his
skills to become "one of the finest purveyors of primitive blues this side of
the Missisipi".  Kris's musical open-mindedness allows him to take on and
deliver a John Fahey inspired acoustic instrumental, to a desert blues trance or
a good ole John Lee Hooker Stomp and Boogie - and deliver with amazing ability!
I know, I've seen Kris play myself and he is up there with the best!
Do check him out at www.krisdollimore.com
Kris is also a great
writer and this performance is extra special as it is also the launch of his
second CD "Now Was The Time", a collection of Medway Delta blues originals and
diverse covers from the likes of Blind Willie Johnson, The Damned and Dawn
Penn.
So, a locally based artist, launching his second
CD at our club on Tuesday 27th October - please give your support!  Bookings to me at the
return email address.
Many
thanks.
