Dear Friends and New Subscribers.....

welcome to a new decade! It feels a little too late to say Happy New Year - but there it is. We hope this year is full of social dance and fun - and to start things off, there's a Burn's Night Ceilidh this Saturday (see below) - join us for all the proper ceremony.

Highlights for Cut A Shine in 2009 have been many. Another long and enjoyable festival season - Glastonbury, Green Man, Bestival spring to mind. A jam packed Solstice Dance at Cargo in December - featuring a special Mass Morris with the Belles of London City. And lastly, our top barn dance of 2009 was at the Mumford and Sons Album Launch - in a real barn! What a dust cloud. pictures here.

Other news, our sister night, The Magpie's Nest Collective (who run folk and roots music events) has won the "BBC Best Folk Club 2010 award". See the bottom of this email for a list of top gigs featuring Cajun Music, Folk Music, African Music, Bluegrass and all sorts..... see the website here.

that all for now. :)
